Thomas Forster was born in 1986 in London, England and began his ballet training at the age of 8 with the Royal Ballet School Associate Programme. At age 11 he commenced full-time dance training with Elmhurst School of Dance and then joined the Upper School of the Royal Ballet School in 2002. Forster's performing experience includes principal roles in The Royal Ballet School performances on stage at the Royal Opera House and on The Royal Ballet School's graduation tour to Japan and New York in 2005. He has also performed with the Royal Ballet, Birmingham Royal Ballet and English National Ballet.

Forster joined ABT's Studio Company in May 2006, the main Company, as an apprentice, in January 2007 and the corps de ballet in December 2007. He was appointed a Soloist in August 2015. His repertory with the Company includes the High Brahmin in La Bayadère, a Step-Sister and Wellington in Frederick Ashton's Cinderella, Lorenzo in Don Quixote, the Duke in GaîtéParisienne, Hilarion in Giselle, Her Lover in Jardin aux Lilas, the Jailer in Manon, His Friend in The Moor's Pavane, the Spanish Dance in Alexei Ratmansky's The Nutcracker, Tybalt and Lord Montague in Romeo and Juliet, Fairy Cavalier and Prince Fortune in The Sleeping Beauty, von Rothbart (both Ballroom and Lakeside) and the Spanish Dance in Swan Lake, The Poet in Les Sylphides, Apollo in Sylvia, the second movement of Symphony in C, Alonso in The Tempest and roles in After You, Bach Partita, Baker's Dozen, Company B, Drink to Me Only With Thine Eyes, Duets, Gong, Monotones II, One of Three, Overgrown Path, Private Light, Raymonda Divertissements, Sinfonietta and With a Chance of Rain.

He created the Mouse King in Ratmansky's The Nutcracker, the English Prince in Ratmansky's The Sleeping Beauty and roles in AftereffectBlue Pas de Deux, Dumbarton, Everything Doesn't Happen at Once, From Here On Out, Thirteen Diversions and Troika.
